About Me
My name is Mahsa. I’m originally from Iran and have been living in Brisbane, Australia for over 13 years.
My artistic journey began early, influenced by growing up in a creative family and learning Persian calligraphy during high school. That early connection to pattern, rhythm, and precision continues to shape my work today.
Over the years, I explored a wide range of materials and techniques, gradually moving toward a more focused visual language.
My current practice centres on geometric mandalas, where I combine repetition, texture, and layered detail to create work that feels both structured and intuitive.
I’m deeply inspired by Persian patterns and visual traditions, and I reinterpret them through a contemporary lens. Through this process, I aim to create a bridge between cultural memory and modern expression.
My work is built slowly, one element at a time. Repetition plays a central role — not only as a visual method, but as a way to find stillness, focus, and connection within the process.
In 2019, I founded Kian Art Studio as a platform to share my work and connect with a wider audience. Since then, my practice has continued to evolve, moving toward a more refined and personal artistic direction.
Alongside my art practice, I have a background in IT and Electrical Engineering, which has influenced my appreciation for structure, precision, and detail in my work.
